Adolf Georg Bartels

Adolf Georg Bartels (born January 27, 1904 in Hanover , † 1978 ) was a German poet .

Life

Bartels graduated from the humanistic grammar school in Göttingen . He studied law and political science at the University of Göttingen and then literary history and art history at the University of Munich .

The Second World War made Bartels 1939-1945 in the Wehrmacht with. Then he was a teacher at Göttingen schools until 1962. Since then he has lived and worked as a freelance writer in Göttingen.

In particular, Hans-Joachim Haecker (1978), Hugo Ernst Buyer (1980), Joachim Lehmann (1982), Joachim Grünhagen (1985) and Brigitte Bohnhorst (1991) were honored with the Adolf Georg Bartels Memorial Award.
