Adolf Heri (born July 15, 1882 in Biberist ; † November 14, 1951 there) was a Swiss trade unionist and politician ( SP ). From 1917 to 1947 he was a member of the Solothurn Cantonal Council .

Life

Adolf Heri's parents moved from Biberist to Gerlafingen when he was one year old . Against the wishes of his father, who was a carpenter , Adolf Heri did not want to take up this profession after his school days, but entered the Biberist paper mill as a worker , where he subsequently worked for 23 years. In 1907 he was a co-founder of the paper mill's union and its president from 1909 to 1926. He also served as president of the Utzenstorf paper factory union . When the cantonal union cartel set up a permanent workers' secretariat in 1920 , Heri became its secretary. He held this position until 1946. Jean-Maurice Lätt called Heri in a publication on the history of the labor movement of the canton of Solothurn as a tireless "silent" workers and unconditional supporters of Jacques Schmid (1931-1949 Social Democratic Government ).

In 1917 Adolf Heri was elected to the Parliament of the Canton of Solothurn, the Cantonal Council. When he was elected President of the Cantonal Council for that year in 1945, he could not take up the post because of “serious health problems”; In 1946 he retired from politics for health reasons, but was a member of the Cantonal Council until 1947. Heri was also a councilor in Biberist and from 1941 to 1949 a local judge in the Bucheggberg - Kriegstetten district court . The Solothurner Zeitung wrote in its obituary that Heri was an "astute people's judge of incorruptible legality".

During the construction of the new road over the Passwang from 1931 to 1933, Heri, as a cantonal councilor, was committed to improving the situation of the workers involved in road and tunnel construction, including unemployed people assigned as part of a job creation measure , and reported about von after an unannounced visit to the construction site observed grievances.
