Life

Jersbek estate around 1747

Adolf Jasper von Ahlefeldt was the son of the landlord of the Holstein estates Jersbek and Stegen Benedikt von Ahlefeldt (1678–1757) and his first wife Anna Margaretha (von) Rantzau, née. von Buchwaldt (1678–1730). Ahlefeldt was married to Marie Anna geb. von Kurtzrock (1720–1789) from Wellingsbüttel , the marriage remained childless. In 1760 both were awarded the Ordre de l'union parfaite for their happy marriage .

He became canon of Lübeck Cathedral on July 26, 1719 and first chamberlain in 1735 , then rose to chamberlain in 1756 . By a contract dated October 1, 1754, he took over the Jersbek and Stegen estates in the Sülfeld parish from his father, where he mainly stayed from 1756.

In his will from 1756, since the marriage had remained childless, he appointed the youngest son of his sister (married Oberg), Benedikt (Bendix) Wilhelm von Oberg, as heir of the property. Adolf Jasper von Ahlefeldt and later his nephew Benedikt Wilhelm Georg Baron von Oberg drove the Jersbek and Stegen estates into ruin within just 20 years, so that they were sold to Paschen von Cossel in 1774 .
