Adolf Jensen (born January 23, 1878 in Landwehr, Quarnbek , district of Kiel ; † February 6, 1965 in Aurich ) was professor of methodology and didactics, German politician ( SPD ), reform pedagogue and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . Holder of the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .

Life

Jensen attended secondary school in Kiel. After the end of the teachers' seminar in Eckernförde - Borby he worked as a teacher first in Felde near Kiel, then in Lauenburg / Elbe and finally in Hamburg . In 1907 he joined the SPD. From 1920 to 1929 he was a teacher and principal at the Berlin-Neukölln Experimental School ( Rütli School ). For his subsequent appointment as extraordinary professor for methodology and didactics at the Technical University of Braunschweig , the local Free Teachers' Union of Germany got involved . For these, Heinrich Rodenstein , Leo Regener and Hans Löhr wrote the memorandum on the further development of teacher training , as a result of which Jensen's appointment was enforced.

In 1933 Adolf Jensen was dismissed from the civil service in Brunswick by the Nazis, but was rehabilitated again in January 1946 after the Second World War. From April 20, 1947 to April 30, 1951, Jensen was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (1st electoral period).
