Adolf Klingspor

Adolf Heinrich Klingspor (born September 12, 1870 in Gießen ; † March 16, 1955 ibid) was a Hessian cigarette manufacturer and politician ( DVP ) and a former member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

family

Adolf Klingspor was the son of the cigarette manufacturer Friedrich Karl Klingspor (1839-1903) and his wife Wilhelmine nee Wallenfels (1843-1913). Adolf Klingspor married first on August 22, 1896 in Lollar Frieda Rosalie Franziska Emilie née Buderus (1876–1910) and on April 26, 1913 her second marriage was Wilhelmine Anna Luise née Bieder.

The Klingspor family tomb made of white marble by the Düsseldorf sculptor August Bauer is located in the new cemetery in Giessen . The two life-size figures that represent the grieving worker and the grieving wife are striking.

Profession and Politics

Adolf Klingspor was a cigarette manufacturer in Giessen and was appointed to the council of commerce . He was chairman of the Association of Central German Industrialists. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the state parliament.
