Adolf Krome

Adolf Krome (born January 28, 1900 in Hanover , † February 21, 1979 in Osterode am Harz ) was a German businessman and politician. For the CDU he sat in the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Life

Adolf Krome studied law and economics at the Universities of Göttingen and Rostock. In 1919 he became a member of the Corps Hildeso-Guestphalia Göttingen . In 1920 he joined the Corps Vandalia Rostock . He was promoted to Dr. jur. and Dr. rer. pole. PhD. On August 1, 1932, he joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party ( membership number 1.277.775). From May 1, 1933 to 1935, he was in the Sturmabteilung and from 1935 to 1939 in the National Socialist Air Corps . Krome was also a member of the German Labor Front , the National Socialist People's Welfare , the Kyffhäuserbund and, from 1934 to 1939, the Reichsbund for physical exercises .

From December 1, 1940, Krome worked in the Reich Ministry for Armaments and Ammunition . From 1941 to 1945 he was delegated from this ministry as a consultant to the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda . In the Second World War he was in action. The denazification decision of October 24, 1949 initially classified him in Category IV as a “fellow traveler”. The appeal hearing on February 21, 1950 denazified him in Category V as exonerated.

Krome was a merchant and factory owner. As a member of the Christian Democratic Union and as a replacement for Gerhard Jungmann , he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the fourth electoral period from December 6, 1961 to May 5, 1963. There he was a member of the committees for social affairs and economics and transport. From 1962 to 1971 he was mayor of the city of Osterode am Harz.
