Adolf Láng (architect)
Adolf Alexander Láng (born June 15, 1848 in Prague , Austrian Empire , † May 2, 1913 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ) was a Hungarian architect of historicism .
Life
Láng studied at the Imperial and Royal Polytechnic Institute in Vienna and then worked in Heinrich von Ferstel's office . From 1870 he worked at Sugárút Építő Vállalat Rt for the construction of Andrássy Street in Budapest and was responsible for planning several tenement houses and public buildings (including the old music academy and the old art gallery). He later founded his own office in Budapest and also taught at the ku Joseph University for Technology and Economics in Budapest. In an office community with Antal Steinhardt , he won a number of public construction contracts throughout Hungary during the 1890s ; often as a result of winning architectural competitions.
Láng settled in Vienna in 1912 and died in 1913 at the age of 65.
