Adolf Lindenbaum

Adolf Lindenbaum (born June 12, 1904 in Warsaw , Russian Empire ; died September 1941 in Paneriai ) was a Polish logician and mathematician of Jewish descent who was associated with the Lemberg-Warsaw School .

He studied mathematics with Wacław Sierpiński , his scientific focus was set theory and mathematical logic . His most famous works are Lindenbaum's Lemma and Lindenbaum-Tarski Algebra . He was a professor at Warsaw University . In September 1941 he was murdered by the Nazis in Paneriai (Ponary) near Vilnius .
