Lac-Saint-Jean-Est is a regional county municipality ( French municipalités régionales de comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Québec .

It lies in the administrative region Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean and consists of 18 subordinate administrative units (three cities, nine municipalities, a village, a district and four unincorporated areas). The MRC was founded on January 1, 1982. The main town is Alma . The population is 51,885 and the area is 2771.1 km², which corresponds to a population density of 18.7 inhabitants per km².
