Adolf Pinegger

Adolf Pinegger (born March 13, 1928 in Aichegg , Stallhofen municipality , † October 22, 2014 ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Pinegger came from a small farming family. He attended elementary and community school and in 1942 began studying to become a teacher in Marburg an der Drau (now Maribor) after successfully passing the entrance exam for the teacher training institute. This study was interrupted by military service on the Eastern Front and by Soviet captivity. In 1947 he passed the matriculation examination for teaching at elementary schools in Graz . He then taught at the elementary school in Södingberg and from 1951 at the elementary school Stallhofen, where he later also became director. In 1975 he was awarded the title of high school councilor .

In 1960 Pinegger went into politics and ran in the local council election. He was elected Vice Mayor of Stallhofen. He held this position until 1969 and then he held the position of mayor until 1993. In 1974 he became a member of the Styrian state parliament , to which he was a member until 1991. In 1986 he founded the senior citizens' association Stallhofen and was its chairman from 1996 to 2010. In 1997 he was also elected district chairman of the Voitsberg Seniors' Association and held this position until 2008.

In addition to his local political work, he also volunteered in numerous associations and clubs such as the Stallhofen-Aichegg water supply cooperative, the Austrian Comradeship Association Voitsberg or as curator of the Prof. Gustinus Ambrosimuseum.

In 1951 he married his wife Friederike. This marriage produced five children.
