Adolf Trenckmann

Hermann Adolf Trenckmann (born August 17, 1856 in Stendal , † April 4, 1932 in Mühlhausen ) was a German lawyer and politician, Mayor of Neuruppin from 1888 to 1898 , Mayor of Mühlhausen from 1899 to 1920 and member of the Prussian manor house .

family

Trenckmann was the son of the innkeeper couple Heinrich Adolph and Hermine Trenckmann, née Bolms.

In 1887 Adolf Treckmann married Klara Emilie Margarete, née Doehl (1870–1947), daughter of a pharmacy owner. The couple had five children.

Life

Trenckmann studied law and on January 12, 1885 took the exam as a court assessor. His first professional position was from 1886 to 1888 2nd mayor and alderman in Spandau . In 1888, the city of Neuruppin appointed him first mayor. His tenure included the construction of the lake dam, the Löwenberg-Herzberg-Lindow-Rheinsberg railway line , the Treskow provincial insane asylum, schools, a hospital and a waterworks.

In 1899, the city council of Mühlhausen elected Trenckmann as the first mayor of the city for twelve years (since 1902 mayor). The inauguration took place on March 23, 1899 by the District President von Dewitz . During his tenure in Mühlhausen, for example, Trenckmann promoted the construction of various schools, the slaughterhouse in 1903, the preparatory facility, and the Pfafferode state sanatorium and nursing home . During his term of office, the wall breakthrough for the Mühlhausen tram at the Inner Frauentor also fell. In 1910 the Mühlhausen magistrate decided to elect Trenckmann for a further twelve-year term. The Lord Mayor also represented the city in the Mühlhausen district council , in the Prussian manor house in Berlin since 1899 and in the provincial parliament in Merseburg from 1917 to 1920 .

In October 1920 Trenckmann retired early after 21 years of service for health reasons. He died on April 4, 1932 at the age of 75 in Mühlhausen.

Honors

Trenckmann received several awards, including the Prussian Red Eagle Order IV class and the Landwehr service awards II class.

Trenckmannstrasse in Neuruppin is named after him.
