Adolf Wilhelm Schwenzer

Adolf Wilhelm Schwenzer , also AW Schwenzer , (born February 19, 1919 , † July 21, 2009 ) was a German doctor and university professor . He researched and published in the field of blood group serology and coagulation .

Life

Schwenzer was a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology . From 1952 he was a private lecturer at the University of Frankfurt am Main . In 1957 he was appointed adjunct professor there. From 1959 to 1962 he was acting director of the women's clinic at the University Clinic in Frankfurt am Main . In 1962 he became chief physician of the gynecological clinic at St. Markus Hospital in Frankfurt am Main, an academic teaching hospital of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. In 1986 he retired.

Schwenzer was with the pharmacist Anneliese Schwenzer, geb. Shepherd married. The couple had two sons. The son Thomas Schwenzer (* 1954) is also professor for gynecology and obstetrics and has been director of the gynecological clinic at the Dortmund Clinic since 1993 .

Adolf Wilhelm Schwenzer was a member of the German Society for Gynecology .
