Adolf von Griesheim ( Adolf Friedrich Leonhard Ludwig Wilhelm von Griesheim ; * December 21, 1820 in Hamm , † October 16, 1894 in Bonn ) was an industrialist.

In 1840, Adolf von Griesheim was an apprentice in the Engelskirchen textile factory Ermen & Engels , which partly belonged to Friedrich Engels (senior), the father of the social philosopher Friedrich Engels . Later von Griesheim became a partner and managing director of this company.

On May 16, 1848 von Griesheim married in Barmen Anna Engels (* December 5, 1825 in Barmen, † Engelskirchen July 9, 1853), the sister of Friedrich Engels.

After Anna's death, Adolf married his younger sister Elise Engels on October 3, 1854 in Barmen (* August 6, 1834 in Barmen; † March 9, 1912). Both had a son Adolf (born July 31, 1857 in Engelskirchen, † 1926), who became a doctor.

After Friedrich Engels (senior) died on March 20, 1860, there were disputes over ownership of the Ermen & Engels company . Eventually the sons Herrmann, Emil and Rudolf as well as von Griesheim became partners, while Friedrich Engels (junior) was compensated.

From 1877 to 1894 von Griesheim was a member of the board of directors of the Bochumer Verein .
