Adolf von Massenbach

Albrecht Heinrich Adolf Freiherr von Massenbach (born August 23, 1868 in Fraustadt , † April 29, 1947 in Potsdam-Babelsberg ) was a Prussian district administrator in Wreschen and district president in Potsdam .

Life

Origin and family

His parents were Friedrich Wilhelm Leonhard von Massenbach (* November 6, 1835 - July 10, 1883) and his wife, Freiin Marie Cornelie von Forstner von Dambenoy (* October 24, 1838 - December 3, 1908). His father was a district administrator in Fraustadt .

His brother Fabian (1872–1948) was a lieutenant colonel and adjutant wing of Ernst Ludwig , Grand Duke of Hesse and the Rhine.

Career

Adolf von Massenbach passed the Abitur examination in Züllichau in 1887 . He then studied in Göttingen and Berlin law . In 1888 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . In 1891 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. After legal traineeship and assessor exams as well as military service with the Cuirassier Regiment “von Seydlitz” (Magdeburgisches) No. 7 in Magdeburg , he became district administrator in Wreschen in 1901 . In 1908 he was appointed lecturer at the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture, Domains and Forests . In 1916 he was appointed director and department head in the war food office . In 1917 he became regional president in Potsdam . He resigned from office at his own request in 1919.

He became general director of the Graf von Arnim'schen Waldgutstiftung and at the same time the general representative of the Count von Arnim-Muskau . He was a member of the supervisory board of the Ostelbischer Braunkohlensyndikat GmbH.
