Adrian Mohr (born January 6, 1974 in Verden (Aller) ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from February 19, 2013 to October 15, 2017 .

Education, work and family

Mohr attended elementary and secondary school in Dörverden , where he obtained the extended secondary qualification I in 1990 , followed by the Abitur at the BBS Verden-Dauelsen Business School in 1993. He then completed vocational training as a savings bank clerk at Kreissparkasse Verden . From 1996 he worked as an employee of the Kreissparkasse. In 2001 he completed advanced training as a savings bank economist in Hanover. Subsequently, until his election to the state parliament in 2013, he worked in the corporate customer lending business with a focus on corporate and balance sheet analysis.

Mohr is an Evangelical Lutheran , married and the father of two children.

Mohr became a member of the Junge Union (JU) in March 1990 , and in the same year he was elected chairman of the JU Dörverden. He held this office until 1998. In autumn 1990 he also became a member of the CDU. From 1999 to the end of 2008 he was chairman of the CDU community association Dörverden. Since 2008 he has been chairman of the CDU district association in Verden, he is also a board member of the CDU district association Elbe / Weser and honorary chairman of the JU in the district of Verden.

In 1996 he was elected to the Dörverden local council for the first time and was chairman of the CDU council group there from 2001. Since 2001 he has also been the deputy mayor of the municipality of Dörverden and a member of the district council for the district of Verden . He has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since 2006, and deputy chairman of the district assembly since 2011.

In March 2012, the CDU nominated him as a direct candidate for the Lower Saxony state election in 2013 in the Verden constituency . In the state elections on January 20, 2013, Mohr won the constituency with 42.4% of the first votes and thus made it into the Lower Saxony state parliament. In the Lower Saxony state election on October 15, 2017, he lost his direct mandate to the SPD candidate Dörte Liebetruth and left parliament. However, the CDU parliamentary group appointed him their full-time managing director.
