Adrian Serioux (born May 12, 1979 in Toronto ( Scarborough ), Ontario ) is a Canadian football player . The defender has played for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer since 2009 .

Club career

Serioux moved after a college season for the University of New Haven , Serioux moved to the USL A-League for the Toronto Lynx . In his five seasons for the Toronto Lynx Serioux came to a total of 116 missions, in 2000 he was defeated with the team in the Conference Final of the Rochester Raging Rhinos .

In 2004 Serioux signed a two-year contract with English second division club Millwall , after his compatriot Josh Simpson had also signed a contract with Millwall a week earlier . He returned to Canada in September 2005 to take care of his sick mother.

On March 1, 2006 Serioux joined the major league soccer team New York MetroStars , but was given to Houston Dynamo a few weeks later in exchange for Danny O'Rourke . With Dynamo Serioux won the 2006 championship with a 4-3 win on penalties over New England Revolution . In the MLS Expansion Draft 2006 he was selected by the new MLS club Toronto FC , but a few hours later given to FC Dallas in exchange for Ronnie O'Brien . In 2007 Serioux missed much of the season due to injury, and in May 2008 he was fined $ 1,000 for a red-handed foul on David Beckham after he had announced in an interview a year earlier that he was “going after him be ”(“ going after him ”).

After two years with Dallas, he was signed by Toronto for a compensation payment and Toronto's first round pick at the 2010 MLS SuperDraft . Serioux was not submitted to a new contract offer for the 2010 season and eventually returned to Houston Dynamo against the third round pick at the 2011 MLS SuperDraft .

National team

Serioux made his debut in August 2004 in a World Cup qualifier against Guatemala in the Canadian national team . In 2005 he was part of the Canadian squad at the CONCACAF Gold Cup and was one of the better players on his team in the preliminary round. He played his last international game on October 15, 2008 in a World Cup qualifier against Mexico.
