Adrian von Ense
Adrian von Ense (* around 1520 in Anröchte ; † March 6, 1594 ) was canon in Münster and Drost in Stromberg.
Life
Adrian von Ense came from the Lower Rhine - Westphalian noble family Ense . He was the son of Heinrich von Ense (* 1470, Herr zu Anröchte and Westerkotten) and his wife Raba von Canstein. For a long time, the bailiffs of Stromberg Castle came from the Ense tribe . In 1544 Adrian received a cathedral canonical in Münster . On February 15, 1556 abandoned it to its sinecures and married Johanna Raesfeld to Ostendorf . The marriage resulted in four daughters and the son Henrich, who later became the bailiff of Stromberg Castle. The appointment to Drosten in Stromberg fell on April 15, 1560. For years Adrian had been in dispute with the Archbishop of Cologne before the Imperial Court of Justice in Speyer over house and office in Anröchte.
