Aenne Franz

Aenne Franz , b. Mathonet , (born October 21, 1923 in Solingen ) is a German dialect writer .

Life

Aenne Franz comes from a social democratic family. Her father had been in the SPD since 1919. During the Nazi era, she completed her Reich Labor Service in Thuringia . After the war, from 1947 onwards, she helped to rebuild both the Social Democratic Party of Germany and the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) in Solingen . In 1949 she was involved with Karl Schröder in the organization of the Reich Conference of the AWO in Solingen. From 1967 she was active in the dialect group " De Hangkgeschmedden ", for many years as their "Baas" (boss). Her poems and stories have been published in the Solinger Tageblatt and in four different anthologies by Verlag B. Boll. She also worked as a dialect speaker for Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). In 1983 she was in charge of the group of Rhenish dialect writers Bergisches Land as a regional group in the group of Rhenish dialect writers . She left large parts of her collection of dialect texts, including historical ones, to the Solingen City Archives. In 1991 De Hangkgeschmedden received the Culture Prize of the Baden Community Foundation for their contribution to maintaining the Solingen dialect. In 2012 she received an honor for 65 years of membership in the SPD, and another for her 70 years of membership in 2018.

At the beginning of 2013 she resigned as auditor of the AWO and received the "open heart", the symbol of the AWO, which had been designed as a metal artwork by the youth welfare workshop.

She has always refused her personally offered honors such as the Federal Cross of Merit or the Rhineland Thaler.

Aenne Franz was married to the businessman Ernst Franz from 1951 to 1980. Their daughter is the journalist Renate Franz .
