Aeonium gomerense is a species of the genus Aeonium in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
Aeonium gomerense grows as a perennial , loosely branched small shrub and reaches heights of up to 2 meters. The bare, reticulated, ascending or hanging shoots have a diameter of 3 to 15 millimeters. Their rather flat rosettes reach a diameter of 10 to 28 centimeters. The obovate to lanceolate, green, slightly bluish, almost bare leaves are 5 to 14 centimeters long, 2.5 to 4 centimeters wide and 0.3 to 0.7 centimeters thick. They are pointed towards the tip. The base is wedge-shaped. The edge of the leaf is covered with more or less straight eyelashes that are 0.5 to 1 millimeter long. The leaves are often reddish variegated along the edge .
Generative characteristics
The somewhat egg-shaped inflorescence has a length of 15 to 40 centimeters and a width of 10 to 30 centimeters. The inflorescence stalk is 10 to 20 centimeters long. The seven- to nine-fold flowers are on a 2 to 6 millimeter long, bare flower stalk . Their sepals are bare. The whitish, lanceolate, pointed petals are greenish on the underside and are 8 to 10 millimeters long and 1.5 to 2 millimeters wide. The stamens are bare.
Chromosome number
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 36.
Systematics and distribution
Aeonium gomerense is widespread on La Gomera at altitudes of 500 to 1100 meters.
The first description as Sempervivum gomerense by Robert Lloyd Praeger was published in 1925. In 1928 he placed the species in the genus Aeonium .
