plane

course

The plane took off from Almaty Airport with the destination Rostov-on-Don Airport and within two minutes gained a height between 120 and 150  m . Then, however, it suddenly slowed down, was pushed down, and eventually stalled . The aircraft sank with its nose down and hit a wheat field near a suburb of Almaty at 00:39 a.m. local time . The Tu-154 broke on impact, caught fire , skidded across a field and eventually fell into a ravine . All 166 inmates lost their lives.

root cause

The aircraft lost speed because it got into a layer of air with a temperature of 30 to 40 ° C and was exposed there to shear winds. Then it was pushed down by the downburst and stalled there.
