The approximately four meter high menhir Affiloir de Gargantua (also Pierre de Gargantua ; German called  whetstone of Gargantua ) is in the hamlet of Grand Douit, northeast of Craménil , near the border with Chênedouit in the Orne department in Normandy in France .

Gargantua is the name of a mythical giant that François Rabelais (1483–1553) made famous in his cycle of novels Gargantua and Pantagruel in the 16th century. There are other menhirs and a dolmen called Les Palets de Gargantua in the Indre-et-Loire department and the cairn " Hottée de Gargantua " near Molinchart .

The menhir has been classified as a monument historique since 1889 .

Nearby is the Dolmen La Table des Fées (Chênedouit) .
