Agata Nowicka

Agata Nowicka (also known by her stage name Endo ; * 1976 in Gdansk , Poland ) is a Polish curator , illustrator and comic book author .

Nowicka attended the College for Fine Arts in Gdynia between 1990 and 1995 , after which she began studying at the University of Social and Human Sciences in Warsaw . Her first comic book with autobiographical content appeared in 2001, and further publications followed in 2006, in which she discussed, among other things, her own pregnancy or the everyday concerns of her fellow human beings.

Her illustrations and comic contributions, which are characterized by their own pixelated style, have already been printed in numerous national and international daily newspapers and magazines. These include the renowned “ Gazeta Wyborcza ”, the weekly “ Przekrój ”, the fashion magazine “Wysokie Obcasy”, the women's magazine “ Elle ”, the cultural magazine “ The New Yorker ” and the daily newspaper “ New York Times ”. A Polish stationery manufacturer also had a whole range of everyday objects produced with their works.

From 2006 to 2008 Nowicka was editor-in-chief of the pop culture publication “Exklusiv”. In 2008 she and other colleagues founded the magazine “Gaga”, of which she is the artistic director to this day. She has also been working internationally as a curator since 2010 and has been running her own illustrator agency from 2011, which also operates as a foundation.
