Agathe Poschmann (born January 18, 1922 in Bochum ) is a German theater actress and speaker.

biography

Poschmann completed an acting training at the acting studio of Hans Schultze in Berlin between 1940 and 1942. She made her debut in 1943 as "Anna" in a production of Hermann Bahr's "Die Kinder". This was followed by his first engagement at the Staatliches Schauspielhaus Hamburg (1942-1944) and several at various Berlin theaters such as the Volksbühne (1944-1945), the Deutsches Theater (1945-1947), the Theater am Kurfürstendamm (1947-1948) and from 1948 on Schloßparktheater, the grandstand and the comedy.

Poschmann mostly served the role of the “young lover”. She embodied “Helene” in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's “When the Young Wine Blooms”, “Recha” in Lessing's “Nathan the Wise”, “Ophelia” in Shakespeare's “Hamlet”, “Ria” in Fritz Denger's “We are called you hope ”, the“ Hermia ”in Shakespeare's“ Midsummer Night's Dream ”, the“ Greens ”in Ibsen's “ Peer Gynt ”, the“ Celia ”in Lope de Vegas “ Whims of Dona Belisa ”, the“ Marie-Josèphe ”in Jean Sarments “ You 106th birthday ”, the“ Alice ”in Curt Goetzens “ Taube in der Hand ”, the“ Amine ”in Goethe's “ Laune des Verliebten ”, the“ Frau Pless ”in Bruckner's “ Fährten ”and the“ Marianne Pahlen ”in Carl Sternheim's "Snob".

While Agathe Poschmann's artistic focus was on the stage, she was an extremely rare guest in film and television. Her main role in the DEFA crime film Razzia on the side of Paul Bildt deserves a special mention, for which she was interviewed in detail as part of the DEFA cultural film documentary “Der Augenzeuge”.
