Agdistis bennetii is a butterfly (moth) from the family of feather moths (Pterophoridae).
features
The moths reach a wingspan of 24 to 30 millimeters and are gray-brown in color. The area between the wing folds is paler than the basic color. There are no spots on the Costa loader; there are four spots along the dorsal edge of the wing fold. The fourth spot is closer to the Costalader than the third, and occasionally these are also merged. The moths show a very characteristic resting posture, in which the narrow folded wings are held obliquely forward, while the body is lifted by the long front legs.
The valves of the male genitals are asymmetrical to one another. The costalarms are large and separate from the valves. The saccule is also divided. The uncus is bilobed, each lobe has three to four teeth. The ostium of the female genitals is simple, the antrum has the shape of a straight tube. The proximal margin of the eighth tergite is indented, the Apophyses anteriores are missing.
