Maximilian "Max" de Terra (born October 6, 1918 in Zurich ; † December 29, 1982 in Zollikon ) was a Swiss racing driver .
Career
Max de Terra was one of the gentlemen's drivers who regularly took part in events of the revived motorsport in the late 1940s and early 1950s. At first he only competed in small national competitions in Switzerland and in mountain races .
After 1949, he at the Grand Prix of Bern on a Cisitalia finished in ninth place, he started in 1952 at the Grand Prix of Switzerland on a Simca-Gordini Type 11, the race but had to quit early after a defect in the magneto. In 1953 he drove his second and last world championship run. Back in Bern, this time he drove a Ferrari 166 from the Ecurie Espadon of his compatriot Rudolf Fischer . De Terra crossed the finish line, but was 14 laps behind the winner Alberto Ascari and was not classified.
