Agents of Mercy is a Swedish progressive rock band that was formed in 2008.
Band history
Initially intended by Roine Stolt as a mere side project for acoustic music, Agents of Mercy soon became a band . Only Stolt Nad Sylvan invited as a singer, then they started together progressive rock pieces to write and took Jonas Reingold and Zoltan Csörsz (of Stolts main band The Flower Kings ), Biggo Zelfries, Jimmy Keegan and Pat Mastelotto album The Fading Ghosts of Twilight . Agents of Mercy played at the Night of the Prog Festival on the Loreley in summer 2009 and toured in October of that year with Karmakanic , another band close to the Flower Kings, in Europe and the USA under the name The Power of Two. A live recording with Nick D'Virgilio as drummer has been released.
Before Stolt went on tour with Transatlantic in 2010, he was able to record dramarama with Agents of Mercy . In addition to Sylvan, Stolt and Reingold, Lalle Larsson (Karmakanic) and Walle Wahlgren were also involved in the symphonic retro-prog album. In contrast to the debut album, which was sometimes criticized as a shallow and boring Flower Kings imitation, Dramarama was discussed more favorably. A year later, the band's third album, which is somewhat heavier and heavier, was recorded with the same line-up.
