Roine Stolt (born September 5, 1956 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish guitarist, singer, lyricist and composer of the styles rock (especially progressive rock ), pop and jazz .

Career

Stolt started his career in the late 1960s playing bass guitar in local rock bands. In 1974, at the age of only 17, he joined the band Kaipa , with whom he released three albums. In the 1980s he was mainly employed as a session musician . In 1994 he brought the solo album The Flower King onto the market, which moved him to found the band The Flower Kings due to its particular success in the progressive rock scene . Since then, Stolt has released ten successful studio albums with this band.

Roine Stolt is also a member of the supergroup Transatlantic and was also part of the new incarnation of Kaipa as well as a member of The Tangent and Karmakanic .
