The Sea Within is an international art-rock - Supergroup .
Band history
The idea for a supergroup came to the Swedish guitarist Roine Stolt (including Kaipa and The Flower Kings ) in autumn 2016 during a phone call with InsideOut label boss Thomas Waber. Bassist Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings) was the first to join. Then Yes keyboarder Tom Brislin joined the project. There were also Marco Minnemann (drums, ex- Freaky Fukin Weirdoz ) and guitarist Daniel Gildenlöw ( Pain of Salvation ).
The Sea Within was founded in 2017. The recording of the debut album took place in September 2017 at Livingstone Studio in London. The entire recording process took six months, during which numerous guests recorded individual songs, for example Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater . Casey McPherson ( Flying Colors , Alpha Rev ) is also involved in the project as a guest singer, and he took over the vocals on some of the songs on the debut album.
The album was released on June 22, 2018 via InsideOut. It reached number 23 in the German charts.
The first live performance should take place on the weekend of April 13-15. July 2018 as part of the Night of the Prog festival.
