The Aggtelek National Park ( Aggteleki Nemzeti Park in Hungarian ) is a protected area in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County , Hungary . It was designated in 1995 and is around 56,650 hectares in size. The park is best known for its caves , which also extend to the territory of Slovakia . The caves form the serial world heritage site caves in the Aggtelek and Slovak Karst and are therefore part of the UNESCO natural heritage . The park also serves as a retreat for wolves.
