Agidel Ufa ( Russian Агидель Уфа ) is a Russian women's ice hockey club from Ufa , which was founded in 2010 and organizationally belongs to Salawat Julajew Ufa . The club hosts its home games at the Salawat Julajew Sports Palace and won its first Russian championship title in 2018 .
history
Agidel Ufa was founded as part of the “Development of Women's Ice Hockey in Russia” program and named after one of the most important waterways in the Republic of Bashkortostan - the Agidel River . The establishment of the club is based on an agreement between the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Chairman of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, Vladislav Tretyak , signed on August 31, 2010. In the course of September 2010, the team was formed, which initially consisted primarily of former bandy players and began playing in the Russian women's championship on September 23, 2010.
For the 2011/2012 season, Agidel was reinforced by local players from Canada and Slovakia. Until the middle of the 2015/16 season, the team was trained by Vladimir Malmygin and Sergei Trudakov. Denis Afinogenow has been Agidel's head coach since January 2016 and led his team to the first Russian championship title in the club's history in 2018 .
