Agnes II of Braunschweig-Grubenhagen

Agnes II von Braunschweig-Grubenhagen (* approx. Summer 1406; † November 18, 1439 ) was abbess of the Gandersheim monastery from 1412 to 1439 .

Life

She was a daughter of Erich I (Braunschweig-Grubenhagen) . As a child she was elected abbess. The Pope later confirmed the election of the minor Agnes, but gave her a dean of the monastery as guardian. From 1425 Agnes issued documents without a guardian. She was buried in the collegiate church.

Act

In connection with a Welfish inheritance and the extinction of the noble lords of Homburg , they transferred Otto II (Braunschweig-Göttingen) castle and town of Gandersheim and the castles Seesen and Stauffenburg , and Wilhelm I (Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel) the Asseburg , Gifhorn , Burg and City of Lüneburg , Greene Castle , Lüthorst , the half fiefdom of Homburg , Lauenstein Castle and goods belonging to the former county of Wernigerode .

She also took care of the property in Kalkum .
