Agnes Osazuwa

Agnes Osazuwa (born June 26, 1989 in Benin City ) is a Nigerian sprinter .

Career

She celebrated her greatest success so far by winning the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . The Nigerian sprint relay had originally not qualified for the competition and could only participate because Finland withdrew its relay at short notice. On August 17, 2016, the Russian runners Julia Schermoschanskaja , Evgenia Polyakowa , Alexandra Fedoriwa and Julia Guschtschina were stripped of their 2008 gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay because of doping. The medals of Belgium (now gold), Nigeria (now silver) and Brazil (now bronze) have been gradually adjusted.

In 2010 she was fourth over 100 meters at the African Championships in Nairobi with her personal best of 11.33 s and won the Nigerian 4 x 100 meter relay. At the Athletics Continental Cup in Split she was third with the African relay, and at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi , she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters and was fourth with the Nigerian relay.

At the 2011 World Championships in Daegu , she came in sixth place with the Nigerian quartet in the 4 x 100 meter relay.
