Agnieszka Kozłowska-Rajewicz (born December 4, 1969 in Kętrzyn ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska (PO). She was deputy of the Sejm of the VI. and VII. electoral term (2007–2014), Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment (2011–2014) and is a member of the European Parliament for the 8th electoral term (since 2014).

education

Agnieszka Kozłowska-Rajewicz studied biology , psychology , sociology , ethnology and history at the universities in Gdańsk and Poznan and graduated from the Faculty of Biology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with a specialization in human biology in 1994. She then completed a postgraduate degree in public relations at the Higher School of Management and Banking in Poznan, which she graduated in 1996. In 1998 she received her PhD in human biology from the Faculty of Biology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.

Professional background

After completing her postgraduate studies, Kozłowska-Rajewicz initially worked for more than a year as a Public Relations Manager at the Poznan International Fair . After completing her doctorate, she found a job as an assistant professor at the Institute of Anthropology (Faculty of Biology) at Adam Mickiewicz University. There she was co-author of textbooks for biology, especially for secondary schools . In 2005 she accepted a position as assistant professor at the Pedagogical Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University, where she headed the Environmental Education Laboratory until 2011. Since 2016 she is at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Adam Mickiewicz University again as a lecturer operates.

Political career

Agnieszka Kozłowska-Rajewicz has been politically active since the late 1990s. At first she was a member of the Unia Wolności , but in 2001 she moved to the newly founded Platforma Obywatelska after Donald Tusk left . In the local government elections in 2002 , she stood for the electoral alliance consisting of the Platforma Obywatelska and the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość for a mandate in the Sejmik of the Greater Poland Voivodeship , but could not win this. She also failed in the parliamentary election , which took place three years later , in which she applied for a seat in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland for the Platforma Obywatelska in constituency No. 39 (Poznan and the surrounding area ) .

In the local government elections in November 2006 , Kozłowska-Rajewicz was elected a member of the Poznań District Council ( Rady Powiatu Poznańskiego ). In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , she ran again in constituency No. 39 and this time won a seat in the Sejm. During the VI. Term of the Sejm she was a member of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth of the Health Committee and the Committee on Justice and Human Rights. In the 2011 parliamentary election for the seventh electoral term of the Sejm , she was able to defend her mandate in the same constituency. For a few days she was a member of the Committee on Social Policy and Family and the Committee on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry. On December 1, 2011, Agnieszka Kozłowska-Rajewicz was appointed State Secretary as Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment and from 2012 served as a member of the Council for the Prevention of Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

In the 2014 European elections she ran in national constituency No. 7 and won a seat for the 8th electoral term of the European Parliament with 66,419 (11.35%) of the valid votes cast in the constituency. There they heard of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality. She is also a member of the delegation for relations with Belarus and the delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly .
