The Agta Record AG (own notation: agta record ag ), headquartered in Fehraltorf is a listed Swiss manufacturer of automatic door systems. The group of companies, which is represented in more than 50 countries, develops, produces, sells, installs and maintains automatic door systems . These include automatic sliding doors in linear and radial designs, angled sliding doors , folding doors , swing door drives, automatic door systems for security requirements, security gates, fire doors , revolving doors , but also high-speed doors and the corresponding sensors .
The company employs over 2,500 people worldwide and generated sales of 351.9 million euros in 2016. The share of Agta Record are on the Paris Stock Exchange EUR Next abroad segment listed . The descendants of the company founder owned a 36 percent stake in the company, which they sold to the Swedish company Assa Abloy in 2019 . The Swedes had already held 39 percent of Agta Record since 2011 and now hold the majority of the shares.
history
The company was founded in 1953 by the engineer Helmut Heinz Bunzl as a sole proprietorship in Zurich-Oerlikon . At that time, he developed the first drive for a swing door and in 1958 the first automatic pedestrian sliding door. As a result, a number of door systems were added. In 1967 Bunzl converted his company into a joint stock company for door automation , which in 1998 became Agta Record on the occasion of the IPO .
