Agualva-Cacém is a city in the greater Lisbon area of Portugal with 120,845 inhabitants (2001). Agualva-Cacém belongs to the Sintra district , which in turn is part of the Lisbon district in the Lisbon region . Agualva-Cacém consists of the freguesias Agualva, Cacém, Mira-Sintra and São Marcos. The community area is 127 km².

Agualva-Cacém had until 2001 even the status of Freguesia, but received on July 12, 2001, the city charter . The freguesia was dissolved in the same month.
