Aharon Avraham Kabak
Aharon Avraham Kabak (born December 2, 1880 in Smorgon , † November 20, 1944 in Jerusalem ) was a Hebrew-speaking writer of classical modernism.
life and work
Born in 1880 in Lithuania, Russia , he immigrated to Palestine in 1911 . For some time he studied at German universities. In his literary work, he mainly focused on historical topics. His novel trilogy about the Portuguese Converso Diego Pires, later known as Salomon Molcho , who became the herald of the pretender of the Messiah, David Reuveni , was published in 1913–1927 . In 1937 his Jesus novel במשעול הצר (Eng. On a narrow path ) was published. A large-scale family saga remained unfinished. As a translator, Kabak devoted himself to the works of Stendhal , among other things .
