Ahlefeld is a district of the municipality Ahlefeld-Bistensee and is located in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein . Friedrichshof and Meierhof are in the local area.

Ahlefeld was an independent municipality until February 29, 2008. On March 1, 2008, it merged with the neighboring municipality of Bistensee to form the new municipality of Ahlefeld-Bistensee .

Geography and traffic

Ahlefeld is located about 10 km north of Rendsburg , 12 km southwest of Eckernförde and 13 km southeast of Schleswig between the Hüttener Mountains and the Duvenstedter Mountains . The federal highway 7 runs to the southwest from Rendsburg to Schleswig, and to the southeast the federal highway 203 runs from Rendsburg to Eckernförde.

From 1904 to 1954 the place had a train station on the Eckernförde – Owschlag railway line of the Eckernförde district railways.

history

Much better known than the place Ahlefeld is the noble family named after the same . This played an outstanding role in the history of Schleswig-Holstein . Their relatives owned numerous estates, especially in the Duchy of Schleswig , and during the time of the entire state under the Danish monarchy came to the highest state offices. The Friedrichshof estate, which was the ancestral home of the Ahlefeld family, was demolished in 1953 after a fire.
