Ahmet Altun

Ahmet Altun (born January 25, 1958 in Ankara ) is a former Turkish long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon .

In 1983 Altun won both the 25 km from Berlin with a time of 1:16:23 hours and 2:12:41 in the Frankfurt Marathon . Both times meant Turkish records, with the first still standing. In 1987 he won the Munich Marathon , in 1988 he was the winner of the Istanbul Marathon Turkish champion, and in 1989 he set his personal best of 2:12:40 in Munich as second.

In 1983 he won the silver medal at the Mediterranean Games , and in 1987 the bronze medal. Altun took part in the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988 , in 1984 he gave up, in 1988 he finished 71st.

With a height of 1.68 m, his competition weight was 57 kg.
