Ahmet Erol (born January 1, 1921 in Çivril , † June 15, 2012 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish football player and official . Through his many years of work for Fenerbahçe Istanbul , he is strongly associated with this club. On fan and club pages he is seen as one of the more important players in club history. When he was playing, he was often called Bego Ahmetand is better known by this nickname. After his active football career, Erol also worked for Fenerbahçe as a club official and was part of the board. He died of heart failure on June 15, 2012 in an old people's home in the Kartal district of Istanbul .
Player career

Erol began playing football in his hometown of Çivril and in 1937 he joined the Muhafızgücü military team of the Turkish Armed Forces . From here he moved to Gençlerbirliği Ankara in the spring . For Gençlerbirliği he played the following two seasons. In the summer of 1945, after intensive efforts, he moved from the club official Rüştü Dağlaroğlu to Fenerbahçe Istanbul . He was active for this club for six years and was able to win the Turkish football championship twice and the presidential cup twice during this time . The championships won were before the founding of the highest Turkish league, today's Süper Lig , and are not considered a regular season of the Süper Lig by the Turkish Football Association and are therefore not listed as a championship.
National team
Erol first played for the Turkish national team while at Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In a friendly game of the Turkish national team on April 23, 1948 against the national team of Greece , he played the full length of the game. He played a total of five games for Turkey.
