Çivril is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Denizli and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Denizli (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . Çivril is about 96 km northeast of the center of Denizli . The Ilçe was the third most populous in the province at the end of 2018. The population density only reaches half of the provincial value (84.7 inh. Ke km²). According to the logo, Çivril received the status of a Belediye (municipality) in 1886 .
Akdağ is about 22 km east of Çivril at 2,449 meters. At the foot of the Akdağ is the Işıklı Gölü lake , whose outlet flows into the Great Meander . The lake is an important fish reserve. There are only small guesthouses around the lake, as hotel buildings have been banned here in order to preserve the landscape, flora and fauna.
