Buldan is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Denizli and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Denizli (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . Buldan is about 47 km northwest of the center of Denizli . The district already existed when the republic was founded and at the end of 2018 was 8th in the Ilçe population ranking. The population density was 52, slightly over half of the provincial value of 84.7 inh. Per km².
history
The city was founded as Buladan by the Seljuks in the 13th century . The name Buladan is derived from the old Turkish word buladan , which means plane tree . The name Buldan arose from this in the course of the city's history. Buldan was under the rule of the Germiyanoğulları Beyliği during the Seljuk period and belonged to the Vilayet-i Aydın in the Ottoman Empire . Buldan was a sanjak of the Vilayet Aydin until the Denizli Province was formed (1923) .
Culture and sights
Near the small town of Yenicekent are the ruins of the ancient city of Tripoli . Another attraction of Buldan is the idyllic Kestane Deresi ( Eng . "Kastanienbach"), an excursion point located in the upper parts of the city.
Economy and Infrastructure
As in the entire province, there are many textile and clothing factories in Buldan. Textile production has been of economic importance for centuries.
Since the industrialization of Turkey, the number of weaving machines in Buldan has increased. In 2003 the number of looms in Buldan was around 3,000 and the number of looms fell to around 30. Production and export are carried out by KOBİ (Küçük ve Orta Büyüklükteki İşletmeler, German Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises ). In 2003 Buldan exported to the following countries: Bulgaria, Germany, France, Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Spain (all EU), Algeria, Israel, Jordan, Canada, Macedonia, Switzerland, Ukraine and Russia. In 2003 Buldan textiles exported to the value of 2.5 million US dollars . The Buldan Dam is located in the north of the district .
