Beyağaç is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Denizli and at the same time a district of Büyükşehir belediyesi Denizli (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ). Beyağaç is located about 93 km southwest of the center of Denizli . The place occupies the third last place of Denizli in terms of population. According to the city logo, it received the status of a Belediye (municipality) in 1972 . In 1990, what was then the district of Beyağaç was separated from the district of Kale as an independent administrative unit, and in 2012/2013 Beyağaç became an Ilce / district of the metropolitan municipality.

The Kartalsee glacier valley

A notable sight in the city is the Kartalsee Glacier Valley ( Turkish : Kartal Gölü Buzul Vadisi ). It is located 40 km from the center of Beyağaç. It has a length of 1.5 km with an average width of 600 m. The glacier tongue is currently (2008) at an altitude of about 2261 m on the Kartalsee of the same name ( Turkish for Adlersee ). Black pines are 250 to 700 years old around the lake . The Glacier Valley has been under nature protection since 1990 .
