Honaz is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Denizli and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Denizli (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . Honaz is about 19 km east of the center of Denizli . According to the logo, the place was raised to the rank of Belediye (municipality) in 1914 and split off from the central district ( Merkez ) together with some villages in 1987 . In terms of population, the Ilçe is in 6th place in the ranking. The place is the successor settlement of the ancient place Chonai , of which only a few relics have survived.
The city of Honaz is characterized by a rich flora and fauna with rare species . The Honaz Dağı National Park is a large forest area in which the Honaz Dağı is the highest point in the Aegean region at 2,528 meters .
