Aichryson brevipetalum is a species of the genus Aichryson in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae).

Vegetative characteristics

Aichryson brevipetalum grows as an annual , simple or sparsely branched, densely hairy, herbaceous plant and reaches heights of 5 to 8 centimeters. The anywhere with hair occupied shoots have a diameter of 2 to 3 millimeters. The ascending branches are spreading widely. Their obovate, rounded, hairy leaves are 12 to 18 millimeters long and 5 to 7 millimeters wide. They are gradually narrowed into an indistinct stalk. The leaf blade is widest in the middle or above it .

Generative characteristics

The inflorescence has few flowers . The six to seven-fold flowers are on a 3 to 4 millimeter long peduncle and have a diameter of 7 to 8 millimeters. Their sepals are densely hairy. The lanceolate, pointed petals have a pointed tip. They are 3 to 4 millimeters long and usually shorter than the sepals. Its tip is colored purple.

Systematics and distribution

Aichryson brevipetalum is common on La Palma .

The first description by Robert Lloyd Praeger was published in 1928.

Aichryson brevipetalum is very similar to Aichryson parlatorei and is possibly conspecific.
