organization structure

The headquarters of the Aikikai Foundation, the Aikikai Honbu Dōjō , is located in Tokyo . After the death of Morihei Ueshiba , the founder of Aikidō, the management of the organization was transferred in 1969 to his son Kisshōmaru Ueshiba . The current head of the Aikikai is Ueshiba Morihei's grandson Moriteru Ueshiba . In Aikikai there are several lines that follow various disciples of Morihei Ueshiba. Therefore, there are quite different styles within the association.

Other aikido associations, such as B. the Federal Association of Aikido Teachers (BdAL) are not recognized by the Aikikai Foundation.
