Aino Havukainen (born December 5, 1968 in Rauma , Finland ) is a Finnish illustrator and children's book author .

Live and act

Aino Havukainen studied illustration and graphic design at the Lahti Institute of Design and graduated in 1992. She then worked as a multimedia designer in an advertising agency. She has been working as a freelance illustrator and author since 1996.

She is married to the illustrator and caricaturist Sami Toivonen . Together they are best known for the children's book series Tatu and Patu , several parts of which have been published since 2003. Licenses for this series have been granted to publishers in 21 countries. In Germany, parts of the series have been published by Thienemann-Esslinger Verlag since 2010 .

Aino Havukainen and Sami Toivonen live in Sastamala and have a daughter.
