However, the Vice President's plane was struck by lightning and had to ditch near the Pacific island of Barago. When the survivors make it to the island's beach, they are shot at by rebels who are training on the island for a revolution in the South American country of San Pietro. The rebels are led by the American mercenary Armstrong.

Walker and Delaney manage to overpower one of the attackers, arm themselves and defend themselves against the rebels and mercenaries. They have now found out on the basis of documents that the US Vice President is among the survivors. They plan to take this hostage and exchange it for a ransom.

In the course of the fighting, Walker and shortly afterwards Delaney and the journalist Sharon Serrano fall into the hands of the mercenaries. Delaney manages to escape and single-handedly free Walker and Serrano after a fight against the rebels. In the end she defeats Armstrong just before the rescue forces reach the island.
