Brian Trenchard-Smith (born 1946 in England ) is a British director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Born and raised in England, Trenchard-Smith moved to Australia at the age of 20 . He previously took up studies at Wellington College , but dropped out of it to devote himself to film.

He started working for television in Australia, where he mainly worked as an editor in the news department for the first few years . In the 1970s he directed television documentaries. With The Man from Hong Kong ( The Man from Hong Kong ), he made his first feature film in 1975, in which Bruce Lee was originally to play the leading role. However, he died before the entire film could be completed.

Trenchard-Smith also works as a producer and screenwriter. He is best known for directing TV productions and writes many scripts for his films himself. As a director, he has directed action and horror films as well as comedies. Most of them are B-films .
