Air Ivoire (actually Société Nouvelle Air Ivoire ) was an Ivorian airline based in Abidjan and based at Port Bouet Airport .

history

The airline was founded on December 14, 1960 and began operating in August 1964. The companies Sodetraf , Union des Transports Aériens and Air Afrique held a stake in the company until January 1976, after which the Ivorian state took over all the shares. In September 1999 the airline had to cease operations due to financial problems. However, the takeover by AAA (owned by Air France (51%) and AIG ) saved the company so that operations under the name Nouvelle Air Ivoire could be resumed in 2001. In the meantime, the airline has had itself renamed back to its old name. In March 2011, it ceased flight operations.

aims

Air Ivoire connected Abidjan mainly with major African destinations, including Accra , Libreville and Lagos, and also flew to Paris and Marseille in France.
