The Abidjan airport , also called Felix Houphouet Boigny Airport or Port Bouet Airport , the largest airport in the West African nation of Côte d'Ivoire . It is located about 16 kilometers southeast of the largest city on the Ivory Coast, Abidjan , in the Port-Bouët district . In 2003 about 773,000 passengers were counted.

General

Abidjan Airport has a runway with a length of 3000 meters. In contrast to many other African airports, the equipment at the airport is of European standard. The airport has two terminals, one for domestic and one for international flights. 25 check-in counters are available for check-in. The airport building also houses a post office, a bank as well as a few restaurants and cafes. Several taxis are stationed in front of the airport to transport travelers to the capital. An ILS approach is possible.

Airlines

International air traffic plays a major role at Abidjan Airport. Many leading airlines, such as Air France and Brussels Airlines , offer destinations across Europe . There are also flights to the North African countries and the Middle East . In addition, several African airlines have a seat in Abidjan, which transport passengers to Ghana or South Africa, for example .
